Celebrate Bennington Rotary's 60th Anniversary Year
February 1, 2011
BENNINGTON - The gentlemen pictured above were celebrating Charter Night for the Bennington Rotary Club on June 5, 1951. On May 14, 2011, the current members of the Bennington Rotary Club will be celebrating the 60th Anniversary of this occasion.
The club's membership now consists of men and women, just one of the many changes that has occurred over sixty years. Even with all of the changes in Rotary's history and the history of the United States over this period of time, one thing has remained constant. That is all Rotarians'
commitment to Service Above Self.
On the club's 35th anniversary, J. Duncan Campbell asked whether it was for good or evil that the club had been formed. He concluded that Bennington would have been much less successful without the Bennington Rotary Club.
For the May 60th anniversary celebration, we would like to collect photos of present members when they were younger, say between 10 and 25, more or less. We'll put together a slide show for a little entertainment. If they're digital, e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
. If not, you may give them to Chuck at meetings after between 2/11 and 3/11, or mail them to him at 834 Dermody Road, Bennington
