April 1, 2016
George was born in Bennington and grew up in Woodford across the street from his grandparents' house. After his grandparents died, he bought the house and lives there with his wife Holly and his three daughters. They redid, rebuilt and added to the house over the years.
George's oldest daughter, Amber, is turning twenty this year. She goes to college at Lasell College in Newton, Massachusetts where she is studying fashion merchandising and event planning.
Kaity who is sixteen is a sophomore at Mt. Anthony and is in the top three in her class. She plays softball, soccer and basket ball. Fourteen year old Emilie is in 8th grade. She also plays soccer, basketball and softball. She loves basketball.
Holly works for People's United Bank in the Commercial Loans office. With driving the children to games and keeping things on schedule, Holly does pretty much everything.
George is General Manager at Bennington Cooling and Heating. He has been working there for twenty years. He oversees the workers and does all the estimating for the jobs making sure that they do the best for the best price and in a timely manner. George worked for fifteen years as the lead installer before taking over five years ago as general manager when Jerry Albert retired. Over the years George learned a lot from Jerry.
Although George is very busy now with his work and his family, he became a corporate member of Rotary because he wanted to help in the community and become more involved. Because of his busy schedule, he needs to be informed about various projects so that he can be sure that he can schedule them. Communities have changed since he was growing up because of social media and George wants to stay connected with the people in his community.
