Meet Michael Veitch

Michael is the Director of Community Relations and Development at UCS. In terms of community relations he needs to inform the community about the many services UCS offers. In the area of development, he does fund raising. He has been working at UCS since October
He comes to his new job with a background of working in the New York State Legislature in communications. He held a number of positions in the senate and assembly. When he was in the senate, he held a position with the State Senator who was chair of the committee on Mental Health and Disabilities.
Michael grew up in Saratoga Springs, the youngest of five children. He has three brothers and one sister. His oldest brother is the City Supervisor in Saratoga Springs. Another brother is the Police Chief and the third brother is a police sergeant. His sister moved to Maryland and is the Director of Admissions for a college there. His father was the high school history teacher and a journalist for horse racing which is the large tourist attraction for the city. His mother was a homemaker.
Along with the rest of his family, Michael went to SUNY Plattsburg where he majored in Political Science.
Although he currently lives in Saratoga Springs, he is planning to move to Vermont. He enjoys hiking and fishing. He loves the outdoors and playing and watching basketball. He also loves spending time with the family. He has twelve nieces and nephews. He became an uncle for the first time when he was seven.
He is looking forward to getting to know the Bennington community and in working in Rotary. He has already joined the Public Relations Committee and is committed to posting on our Facebook page each Thursday. Michael is a fine addition to our community and our club.
