Meet Ryley Gaudreau
March 1, 2013
At Edward Jones, Ryley is a financial advisor helping people to invest wisely. As a child he was interested in the stock market, but he got his training from Edward Jones. The training is on-going to keep the advisors up to date.
He joined Edward Jones in 2008, just before the market collapsed. That was eye-opening in helping understand the worst case scenario.
Before that Ryley was doing pharmaceutical sales. He decided to leave because he didn't like the way the business was structured. He wanted to help people and learned that the work had a lot more to do with the insurance companies than with helping people.
He also wanted to come back to the area in North Adams where he has family. At the Edward Jones Bennington office, Chuck Thompson was retiring and Ryley thought this was a good opportunity to get into the business.
Ryley graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science degree. Before that he went to the local schools in North Adams.Ryley's advice for investing is to make sure you have the proper diversity. People also need to consider their different goals. One shouldn't take too much risk or too little risk either.
Ryley is busy with his family, wife Heidi and his daughters Lydia who is three and Madeline who is thirteen months. They are the best thing that ever happened to him. The girls are bright and funny and mischievous.
Ryley helps to run a T-ball league that his father started. He is also active with the North Adams Chamber of Commerce. There wasn't one before.
Ryley joined Rotary to be helpful in the community and get to know more people in Bennington. He expects to become more involved as time goes on.
